We all remember that beautiful summer morning back in 2017 when the tragedy of the Grenfell tower fire unfolded. As the Government inquiry continues, and the Fire Safety Bill goes through the Houses, work has commenced on numerous structures around the country to assess and remedy structures that carry potential risks.
As part of this programme, UAS have been working with contractors and clients alike who are carrying out necessary Fire Risk Assessment works to residential blocks within Greater London. These works will continue for many years as the safety of the structures is corrected and upgraded.
Designing and erecting access solutions to support Fire Risk Assessment works is one of the service delivery solutions provided by UAS. Our experienced team, headed up by one of the first emergency response scaffolders onsite at Grenfell, are all fully trained and qualified.
We undertake work to the requisite compliancy, taking into consideration the specialist requirements of the works, such as lift heights, pinning doors closed and ensuring there is enough space available to dismantle the frame. The works are carried out in close liaison with the residents whilst acknowledging the sensitivities of the circumstances that have prompted the required activities. For such a specialist service, knowledge and communication are key.
Supporting clients across London and the SE to create safer housing is something that will continue to be a key focus for our business. For further information or to speak to us about our FRA specialist solutions, please email info@uas.ltd or call Gary Christie on 07973 552 022.
