HEALTH & SAFETY

The safety of the public & our workforce, being cognisant of the environment in which we work, is our priority.
This process starts with ensuring that the design of our structures is safe for their loadings, purpose & location.

Third Party Expertise
We engage external Health & Safety consultants, Stallard Kane Associates to support on H&S related matters. Not only do they independently verify our processes and provide advice as required, but they audit us annually, at a minimum.
Training & Development
• We use ‘Tool Box Talks’ as a key component of our training programme
• Our risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) provide step by step instruction of our processes
• External training – We use training experts to run workshops for our teams where required
• Internal development – our management team, who hold the highest level of scaffolder accreditation, mentor our supervisor team who in turn mentor their team leaders
• We value an ‘open-door’ policy with our personnel: we appreciate and support every aspect of their health, whether physical or mental
COVID Response
As an ongoing pandemic measure, we’ve tried to keep our teams working in ‘bubbles’ to minimise their risk of exposure to the virus. Seeing the same people working at their sites day-to-day also gives our clients reassurance.
COVID
UAS continues to adhere to all Government legislation and guidance with regard to the pandemic. UAS places, as a priority, the health, safety and wellbeing of our workforce and the public. Vigilance and compliance remain our focus.
Ultimate Access Solutions Limited (UAS) Covid Statement
(updated) Date: 01/08/2021
UAS continues to adhere to all Government legislation and guidance with regard to the pandemic. UAS prioritises the health, safety and wellbeing of our workforce and the public, especially so where our services involve direct engagement with third parties, e.g., residential developments. We liaise with our clients and their customers to minimise risks and the planning of projects has taken on a greater emphasis during the pandemic period. We have developed checklists with clients to optimise when and how works are carried out.
For the public facing environment, the work teams are grouped into their discrete bubbles and this provides the client with the assurance of continuity of personnel. Our employees and workers are tested not only by ourselves but they also follow client specific testing and induction arrangements. We have rare use of subcontractors, but our partners comply with these requirements as well. Toolbox talks are completed with regard to Covid compliance and updates are provided where required.
From the back office perspective, our offices are cleaned daily and MS Teams is used as the de facto engagement tool, both internally and externally. Travel is kept to a minimum and working from home is encouraged wherever possible.
Vigilance and compliance remain our focus and we will continue with a number of good practices that have been developed, even after the ‘normal’ rules of engagement return.
